Alice (Romanko) Peresada

Alice Peresada, 95, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away Friday, November 25. Born in Springfield on September 15, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Katherine (Zvonok) Romanko. Alice worked at Travelers Insurance as well as volunteered at local nursing homes where she worked with the residents in recreational therapy. She was an avid cooker and baker, along with being very talented in crocheting, needlepoint and ceramics.
Alice was the wife of the late Jack Peresada, the mother of the late Phillip Peresada and the sister of the late Mary Saburoff, Alexander Romanko, Michael Romanko, Stephen Romanko and Katherine Bowler.
She is survived by a son, John T. Peresada of Braintree, daughter-in-law, Christina Chaisson of Braintree, two step-daughters, Carol Derks and her husband Gerald of Newaygo of Michigan, and Connie Jordan of Chicopee, one sister, Elizabeth Grochmal of Ludlow, two grandchildren, Lauren Peresada of Boston and Philip Peresada of Weymouth, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Alice will be held on Monday, December 5, with calling hours from 10am – 12pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Service, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. A funeral service at Nowak will follow immediately at 12pm with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bay St., Springfield.
