Arthur L. Podgorski

Arthur Lawrence Podgorski, of Springfield, MA, died on Sunday, November 27, 2016.  He was born on August 2, 1936 in Ludlow, MA to the late Felix and Helen Golaszewska Podgorski.

He worked at Monsanto, Concord Steel, and Conrail for many years. He was an Army and Navy veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Polish American Club and the Ludlow Fish and Game Club, as he enjoyed being in the company of friends. But above all, the roles he cherished most were father and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Tom and his wife Cheryle of Ridgefield, CT; Art, Jr. and his fiancée Shelley Lemke of Feeding Hills, MA; and Karen and her partner Jeanne Mersch of La Quinta, CA.  He was predeceased by his son, Anthony and brother, Lewis and is survived by his former wife, Jacqueline, and brothers Raymond, John and Arnold.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Lauren of Phoenix, AZ and Michael and his wife Lindsey, of Seattle, WA, who deeply mourn the loss of their beloved Papa.  All of his family and friends will miss his sense of humor, his knack for storytelling, and his big heart.
