Barbara A. (Smith) Cochran
December 11, 1933 ~ January 4, 2018 (age 84) 84 Years OldBarbara A. (Smith) Cochran, 84, of Springfield, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Springfield on Dec. 11, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Vera (Moriarty) Smith. Barbara had lived in Springfield for most of her life and worked for the Milton Bradley Company. She loved to cook for her family and friends, and she was an avid PATRIOTS fan.
The mother of the late Deborah Cochran who died in 2003, Barbara is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Panetta and her husband Moose, a son, Kevin Cochran and his wife Katherine, a sister, Jeanne Drake, one grandson, Ryan Panetta and his wife Jessica and one great-granddaughter, Aubri, all of Springfield. She also leaves a niece and a nephew.
Barbara’s family would like to thank Anna Randall at G.S.S.S. for all of her help, Walter and Gigi Zuchara for being such wonderful neighbors and friends of Barbara over the years, and the nurses and c.n.a.’s at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center for their wonderful care of Barbara.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 12, at 10am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St., Springfield (please meet directly at church).
