Brian Donald Mortensen

MONSON -- Brian Donald Mortensen, 56, passed away November 4, 2015 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Waukegan, IL to Warren and Priscilla (Crane) Mortensen. Brian was a longtime resident of Wilbraham and lived in Monson for the past 4 years. He was an employee of the US Post Office of 30 years with his most recent position as a "mail flow controller." Brian was a hardworking family man. He was an avid New England Patriots fan, and loved taking day trips with his family, Cape Cod being one of his favorites. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He leaves his wife of 30 years, CarolAnne Kurpaska-Mortensen; his parents, Warren and Priscilla “Pat” Mortensen of Wilbraham; his sons, Richard, Jonathon, Christopher, and Cody; his brother, Warren Mortensen II; his sister, Pamela Einstman; many nieces, nephews, his dear friend Kurt Little, and many other friends and loved ones. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Donations may be made in Brian's name to either the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-1718, or to the family to assist with burial costs.
