Carmino J. Raschilla

Carmino J. Raschilla, 92, died Dec. 29, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. Carm is happily reunited in peace with his beloved wife Rose of 60 years, who predeceased him on Feb. 28, 2014. He was the child of Josephine (Zappia) and Pasquale Raschilla. A lifelong resident of Springfield, he was a 40 year warehouse and traffic manager for Servus Rubber Company and a sales rep for various trucking companies. Past President and lifetime member of Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity, he was Man of the Year in 1978. He was active in the Elks, the Greater Springfield Transportation Club and the 16 Acres Golden Age Club. Carm was a devoted family man and loved watching his grandchildren’s sports, taking casino trips and playing bingo.

He will be dearly missed by son Tom and daughters, Pat (Steve) Ryan and Sandy (Scott) Garete, and grandchildren Corrine, Chelsey, Joe (Amanda), Alison, Josh, Adam and Brad. He was sadly predeceased by daughter-in-law Diane.

Calling Hours will be Mon. Jan. 2, 4-7pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Service, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Funeral services will be Tues. Jan. 3 9am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church, Springfield at 10am. Burial will be Thurs. Jan. 5 at 11am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
