Darius Betts

Darius Betts of Springfield, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. Born in Danville, VA, he was the son of Joe Harris and Hester (Betts) Greene. Darius served in the U.S. Army and will be buried with military honors. 

He is survived by his children Darwin, Jasmine and Gracelynn; his siblings Phyllis (Burnis) Wilson of Albany, NY; Rodney (Shirley) Greene of Manchester, CT; Bernardo (Elizabeth Rosado) Greene of Shrewsbury, MA; and his devoted cousin Sara Corbin; 3 grandchildren and a grandchild due in April;  as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and an abundance of friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers George Greene, Jr. and Ceasar Greene and his sister Olivia Restos-Greene.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at Baystate Medical Center, especially Cynthia Kuusisto, for the extraordinary kind care and compassion they gave to Darius and his family.

A committal service with military honors will be held at a future date at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield, MA.
