David D. Arnold

David D. Arnold, 68, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Northampton, MA on Nov. 17, 1947, he was the son of the late William J. and Mary (Thompson) Arnold. David was raised in Northampton and had lived in Springfield since 1988. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a Corrections Officer for 28 years for the Dep’t. of Youth Services until he retired. He was also an avid PATRIOTS and RED SOX fan. David was the brother of the late Dawn Arnold, Edward J. Kenyon and Russell Kenyon.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Karen (DiMaio) Arnold, three children, son, David Vega of Wallingford, CT, and daughters, Abigail Arnold of Springfield and her significant other, Anthony Breault, and Andrea Arnold of Springfield and her significant other Guilmond Torres, one brother, William J. Arnold, Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Leesburg, FL, two sisters, Jean Latham of Umatilla, FL and Joan Archambault of Florence, MA, two grandsons, David Vega, Jr. and Daniel Vega, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfonso and Joyce DiMaio of Warren, RI who he loved dearly, his brother-in-law, Allan DiMaio of Warren, RI who he was extremely proud of, his sister-in-law, Elisabete Goncalves, a nephew, Tyler Branco who’s help and guidance in the last few weeks allowed David to be at home surrounded by his family and friends,  as well as many other loving nieces, nephews and close friends.

David’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dianne and Lisa from Spectrum Hospice for their wonderful care of David. 

Funeral Services for David will be on Saturday, Aug. 27 starting with Calling Hours from 9am – 11am at Nowak Funeral And Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Prayer Service at the funeral home at 11am. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
