David B. “Duke” Bedard, 76, passed away April 21, 2015 at the Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oxford, MA, to the late Theodore and Anna (Cullina) Bedard. He was a Springfield resident for 54 years and was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church on Allen Street. 

“Duke” proudly served in the United States Army.  He was a service technician for Sorma Limited until his retirement after 35 years and was also a truck driver for many years.  An avid fisherman, he was a member of the Quabbin Fishermen’s Association and he was also a devoted auto racing fan.

He leaves his loving wife of 53 years Eleanor E. (Potito) Bedard; daughter Lynn Guidi and husband Bret of Wilbraham; son Paul Bedard of Chicopee; son Stephen Bedard of Springfield; brother Phillip Bedard of Oxford; and his beloved grandchildren Gianna and Nicholas Guidi.

A committal service with full military honors will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 1:00 p. m. at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Quabbin Fishermen’s Association, P. O. Box 12, Three Rivers, MA 01080 or to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or at woundedwarriorproject.org.
