Donald Louis Provost, Sr., 71, passed away July 3, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in West Springfield to the late Alphonse and Doris (Thomas) Provost, he had been a Ludlow resident for over 50 years. For the last 4 years, he had resided at the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke. Donald served honorably in the United States Army. He had been employed as a truck driver at Truss Engineering for over 20 years. In the 70’s, he raced Figure 8 stock cars at Riverside Park with his brother, Leo. He enjoyed spending time at The Orchard Variety, having coffee and hanging out with friends.

Donald was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Diane (Lefebvre) Provost in 2002; his son, Donald L. Provost, Jr., in 2011; a brother, Leo Provost and 2 sisters, Doris Lynch and Audrey Kelly.

He leaves his sons, Duane Provost and his wife Gypsy of Palmer and Derek Provost of Indian Orchard; grandchildren, Desiree, Marissa, Haylee, and Kyle Provost; brother, Robert Provost; sister, Alice Meunier; brother-in-law, Douglas Lefebvre and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 assembling at 9:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield and proceeding to St. Elizabeth Church, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
