To My Family
I was 7 when my mother, Aunt Millie's sister, passed away. 'Auntie' Millie stepped right in with the love of a Mother. She helped me through hard times. And in more recent years, told me about her memories of growing up with my mother, and telling me about the person I knew so little of, making her alive for me. Need I say more? I will be with you all in heart and mind on Thursday.

Aunt Millie – Maka.
Her given name was Emilia. Family and friends knew her as Emily or Millie but to me she was “Maka”…
Maka is a made up name coined by me, her nephew and Godchild, Richard.
Long ago, when as a very young boy and learning to speak both English and some Polish, I could not pronounce, correctly, the Polish word for Godmother (Matka chrzestna). It came out “Maka” and she has always been and will always be, Maka, to me.
Maka, thank you for always being there for us, your family. Although I will no longer be able to visit with you, and with you, try to solve the world’s problems over a fresh Babka and a cup or two of coffee, you will always be there, in my heart. You were my aunt, my Godmother and a special gift to our family. - Rest in Peace Maka. May God bless you!

Love, Richard

Millie, I know you are in Heaven with your family members who went before you. You were such a good and sweet person while you were here on earth that you can't help but be in a good place. You are in my prayers and I will miss you very much. God Bless you and keep you always. Love, Barbara

My Mother was an amazing person. She lived her life within her means and made absolutely the best of it. She taught me lessons that have helped me throughout my life. Even when she was not feeling well toward the end, the first thing she asked was "How are you?". Everyone in our extended family knew that she loved them. She is now with that part of our family that left this world before her. God bless you Mom!
