Francis Henry Sheehan, 91, passed away September 12, 2015 at the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke. Born in Springfield to the late Francis and Inez (Solari) Sheehan, he was a former Springfield native, attended Cathedral High School and most recently lived in South Hadley. He was a retired postal worker and a local actor who appeared in many television commercials and promotional films, as well as doing radio drama under the stage name Lou Maynard.

Mr. Sheehan was a WWII Navy veteran having served mostly in the Pacific Theater of operations as a crew member serving on the USS West Point and the USS Dobbin. He was a former member of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department Uniform Branch with the rank of sergeant.  He was also a member of the Retired Federal Employees Association, the NRA, the Ludlow Fish and Game Club and was president of St. Michael’s Grammar School Alumni Association 1939.

He leaves a son, Gary Sheehan and his wife Ann of Granby; and 2 grandchildren, Danny Sheehan of Nevada and Melissa Sheehan of Wilbraham; his former wife, Anne Buck of West Springfield and his friend, Edith Cormier.

Services are private and entrusted to Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services.
