Franciszek Kaczowka, 69, passed away September 19, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kanna, Poland to the late Mieczyslaw and Helena (Gryszowka) Kaczowka. In 1972, he immigrated to the United States and had lived in Indian Orchard, Chicopee and Wilbraham before settling in Belchertown with his family in 1988. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. Frank retired as a CNC machine operator at Smith & Wesson where he had worked for 39 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening but his true passion was raising and caring for his many pigeons.

He leaves his beloved family: his wife of 45 years, Maria (Socha) Kaczowka; a son, Derek Kaczowka and his wife Robyn and a daughter, Kathy Laflamme and her husband Brett, all of Belchertown; four grandchildren, Connor and Alexa Laflamme and Camryn and Brianna Kaczowka; four brothers, Zdisław, Janusz, and Tosiek Kaczowka, all of Poland and  Ryszard Kaczowka of New Britain, CT; a sister, Mieczysława Ostrowski of Plainville, CT and also many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Wladyslaw Kaczowka.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 assembling at 10:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
