Helen C. (Swiatek) Kozyra

Helen C. (Swiatek) Kozyra, 92, of Fredericksburg, VA and formerly of Wilbraham, MA died November 8, 2015 in Fredericksburg, VA. Helen was the wife of the late Stanley E. Kozyra who died in 2005. She was born in Wilbraham, the daughter of the late Michael and Karolina (Wozniak) Swiatek. Helen lived the majority of her life in the Greater Springfield and Wilbraham areas and was a graduate of Commerce High School in Springfield. She was employed at various office positions including Alamac Knitting Mills, Metro Engineering, Pioneer Valley Finishing, and in her younger years, at the telephone company.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her siblings: Ted and John Swiatek, Mary Fillion, and Sophie Bolek. She leaves her daughter, Christine Kozyra of Fredericksburg, VA; her son, Jan Kozyra and his wife Arlene of Florence, SC; her grandchildren: Tyler and Tracy Kozyra and Barbara DaSilva and her husband Adilio, all of SC; her great-grandchildren, Davy and Elias and many loved nieces and nephews in the Greater Springfield and Wilbraham areas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 assembling at 8:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services and proceeding to Christ the King Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Calling hours will be Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
