Helen Gertrude Lamothe

Helen Gertrude (Babcock) Lamothe, 89, passed away July 13, 2015 at Wingate at Wilbraham. Born in Agawam, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Gertrude (Landry) Babcock. She was a life-long area resident.

She would spend winters in Zepher Hills, Florida with her late husband, and in her earlier years, she loved camping with her family. She also enjoyed baking. She worked at many retail and grocery store chains including Food Mart in Agawam.

 Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Alfred W. Lamothe; daughter Sandra Provost; brothers Timothy, Bernard, James and John Babcock; and her sister Frances Babcock. She leaves her son, Steven Lamothe and wife Lisa; her sisters Ruth Newell and Arlene Meyers; grandchildren Stefanie Russell, Scott Provost, Amy Lamothe, Stacy Provost, Benjamin Lamothe and Zachary Lamothe; and great-grandchildren Alex Russell, Brendan Russell, Lacy Russell, Braden Lamothe, Andrew Lopez, Cyla Lamothe and Maia Lamothe; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015, with family and friends gathering at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield at 10:00 a. m. and proceeding to Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw Ave., Ludlow for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a. m. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam, at 1:00 p. m.  Calling hours are Monday, July 20, from 4:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m.
