Irene S. Kosakowski

Irene S. (Misiaszek) Kosakowski, 89, passed away June 24, 2015, in East Longmeadow. She was the daughter of the late Franciszek and Michalina (Krzyton) Misiaszek.
Irene was a lifelong area resident and was a faithful parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Indian Orchard where she was a member of both the St. Anne and Rosary Sodalities. She enjoyed gardening, doing puzzles, knitting, crocheting and watching her favorite sports teams: the Bruins, the Red Sox and the Patriots. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Henry T. Kosakowski and granddaughter Kimberli Koretz. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Richard Kosakowski and wife Nancy of East Longmeadow; her daughter Christine Koretz and husband Stephen of Wilbraham; her brother Stephen Misiaszek; granddaughter Jenna Koretz Trombly and husband Garett Trombly; granddaughter Sheryl Kosakowski and husband Edward Muska; her great-grandchildren Evelyn and Caroline Trombly and Radek and Juliette Muska; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank East Village Place, Dr. Peluso and staff and Baystate VNA Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Irene.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at 11:00 a. m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Visitation will precede the funeral from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Baystate VNA and Hospice, 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01103.
