Jean F. Crary

Jean F. Crary, 93, passed peacefully on Friday May 8th.  She was the wife of the late Edward “Ned” McKee Crary who predeceased her in 1985.

  Born in Gloucester, MA, Jean was a free spirit whose love for the water and nature never faded.  Along with the love of her life Ned, she relocated several times for work: Texas, Michigan, and PA until the family settled in East Longmeadow in 1964.  Jean was a dental hygienist but spent most of her time being a sports mom to 4 very active boys and tending to her gardens.  Jean also volunteered in the gift shop at Laughing Brook.  She was a member of the Morning Glory walkers and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

She will be missed by her family and leaves her sons:   Edward (Ted) and his wife Jane of Fort Mill, South Carolina; Tim and his wife Rae Etta of West Springfield, MA; and Jonathan and his wife Lynn, of Auburn, New Hampshire.  Jean was predeceased by both her son Jeffrey and his wife Diane of Center Barnstead, New Hampshire. She was the proud Nana to 7 grandchildren and 7 great -grandchildren.

Services will be held at a future date in her home town.  Donations may be made in her memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA  01104.
