Kathleen R. (Sullivan) Lizak, 82, passed away at home on October 13, 2016. Born in Springfield to the late Rufus J. and Anna (Milos) Sullivan, she was a longtime Ludlow resident. Kathy worked as a nurse for many years at area health care facilities including Ludlow Hospital, Heritage Hall and the former Belchertown State School. A faithful communicant of Christ the King Church, she was a Catechist, a member of the Rosary Sodality and an Adorer of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. She was very involved in Special Olympics, supporting her sons Patrick and Peter who participate as athletes. Kathy enjoyed playing the organ, gardening and feeding & watching the birds.
She leaves 3 sons, Paul Lizak and his wife Anne of Ludlow, Patrick Lizak of Ludlow and Peter Lizak of Granby and 2 daughters, Mary Ann Stringer and her husband Thomas of Fairfax, VA and Ann Marie Lizak and her partner Kenny Benway of Chicopee; 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah and Robert Lizak and Emily Stringer; a great-granddaughter, Ella Santiago and many other family members and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stanley P. Lizak; a brother, Fr. Joseph T. Sullivan and a sister, Alice Sullivan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 assembling at 9:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield and proceeding to Christ the King Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, October 17, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
