Leo A. Bishop, 91, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center. Leo was born in Brandon, VT to the late Dorous and Charlotte (Petty) Bishop. Leo served in the Navy during WWII and was a longtime member of the Wilson Thompson American Legion Post 185 in Feeding Hills. He retired as the manager of shipping for Sears Department Stores after 35 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and doing crossword puzzles.

In addition to his parents, Leo was predeceased by his son, William Bishop and his daughter, Susan Fisk and 2 sisters, Joyce Buswell and Joan Van Guilder Bletz.

He will be missed by all who knew him, including his beloved life partner more than 40 years, Theresa Denisiewicz and her children, Maxine, Louise and Peter. He is also survived by two daughters, Lillian Chabot of Greenville, SC and Marilan Vieu of Pittsfield, MA; a son-in-law, Larry Fisk of Homosassa, FL; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Kelly and her husband Jack of Cranston, RI; his 4 siblings, Wanda Ross and Judy Henritze, both of Roanoke, VA, Marcia Reedy of Williston, VT and Dr. Dale Bishop of Bozrah, CT and many other family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam on Thursday, October 13, 2016 for a Committal Service with military honor beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m. Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Leo’s memory may be made to The American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Rd., Suite 301, Framingham MA 01801.
