Linda G. Stefano, 68, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016. Born in Springfield on Dec. 22, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Mildred H. (Hill) Stefano. Linda was raised in Springfield and graduated from Classical High School in 1965 and then graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1969. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education. Linda worked as a Teacher and Reading Specialist for more than 25 years in Connecticut, and moved back to Springfield 18 years ago. She had a passion for music, dancing and butterflies.

She is survived by a sister, Nancy Tessier-Wolos, a brother, David P. Stefano, one niece, Darlene Hernandez and her husband James, one great-niece, Brittany and her children Anjelo and Lillian, a great-nephew, Johnathan, three aunts, Evie McMenamin, Marcia Hill and Cathy Masley, and uncle, Walter Hill and his wife Judy as well as many cousins. She also leaves her soulmate, Doug Sterbenz, who shared her love of music and together they attended many oldies concerts.

Calling Hours for Linda will be on Sunday, October 2, 2016  from 2-4pm at Nowak Funeral and Cremation Service, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4pm in the funeral home.
