Micheline (Dolbec) Fontaine, 70, of Chicopee, died at home on Sunday, April 30, 2017 with her loving family at her side. Born in Frelishburgh, Quebec, Canada on January 13, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Dolor and Simone (Marquette) Dolbec. Micheline came to this country when she was 18 years old, and had lived in Chicopee for most of her life. She worked as a Nurses’ Aide at the Oak Manor Nursing Home in Holyoke for 17 years. Micheline loved to cook and be at home with her family and she always had a smile when she was with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to dance and she loved Mick Jagger. She loved her kitties and always made sure to feed all the living creatures outside. She loved to spoil her patients at the nursing home with little gifts and she loved to go for rides with her “husband”  Marcel Turgeon. They were together for 28 years until his passing in July, 2015, and she missed him dearly.

Micheline is survived by two daughters, Lyne Hayward of Chicopee and Linda Gagne and her husband Roger of Belchertown, a son, Patrick Fontaine of Chicopee, a brother, Serge Dolbec and his wife Lorraine of Sutton, Quebec, Canada, three grandchildren, Megan Lafrenaye and her husband Nick, and Jeremy and Joshua Gagne, two step-grandchildren, Jason Gagne and Suzanne Courtney, two great-grandchildren, Eric and Nico, as well as her nieces and nephews in Canada. Micheline was predeceased by two sisters, Murielle Dolbec (Oct. 2016), and Nicole Dolbec (Feb. 2016) and one brother, Robert Dolbec (Sept. 2011).

Services for Micheline will held by her family at a later date. In recognition of her love of all animals, contributions in her memory may be made to the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St., Springfield, MA, 01105. Nowak Funeral & Cremation Service of Springfield is assisting the family.
