Paul Halama, 91, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016 at the Redstone Rehabilitation. & Nursing Center in East Longmeadow. Born in Wola Zelichowska, Poland on March 20, 1925, he was the son the late Izydor & Maria (Gawel) Halama.
Paul came to this country in 1963 and lived briefly in Detroit, Michigan and in New Britain, CT before he settled in Ludlow in 1975. He worked as a Machine Operator for 17 years for Smith & Wesson until he retired in 1990.
Paul is survived by his wife of 47 years, Christine M. (Dudek) Halama, two sons, Christopher Halama and his wife Sarah of Springfield and Alex Halama of Ludlow, two grandchildren, Gianna Sky and Landen as well as many nieces and nephews here and in Poland. He was the brother of the late Joseph, Wladyslaw and Jan Halama, Katarzyna Sambor, Rosalie Halama, Anna Boduch, and Agnieszka Szarek.
Funeral Services for Paul will be on Monday, Aug. 29 at 10am from Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Indian Orchard at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard. Calling Hours will be on Sunday, Aug. 28 from 2-5pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Indian Orchard, MA, 01151 would be appreciated.
