Peter Roland Sorel, Jr., 59, passed away May 30, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to Peter R. Sorel, Sr. and the late Dorothy (Farnsworth) Sorel, he was a lifelong area resident. Peter was a postal worker at the Indian Orchard Bulk Mail Center. An avid sports fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, he enjoyed collecting memorabilia of his favorite teams. He was lovingly called “Uncle Buck” by his many nieces and nephews and will be missed by all who knew him.

He leaves his father, Peter Sorel Sr. of FL; his brothers, Michael Sorel and his wife Diane of FL and David Sorel and his wife Selina of TX; his sister, Debra Dalton of MA; nieces and nephews, Michael Jr. and Brian Sorel, Stephanie, Brittany and James III Dalton, Sean and Jonathan Sorel, Nathan and Nicholas Magana; his good friend, Heather Moreau; his longtime friend and roommate, Rob Griffin and his sons John and James; and many other family members and friends.

A Calling Hour for Peter will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield with a Memorial Service to follow at 12:00. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
