Rejeanne Marie (Banville) Petit, 86, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2017 at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada, she was one of 10 children of the late Albert and Jeanne (Henri) Banville. She grew up in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada and had lived in Springfield, MA since 1955. Rejeanne was a former member of the Ladies of St. Ann Sodality at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield. An accomplished knitter and crocheter, she sold Phentex yard from her home for many years. She loved playing cards, especially poker and playing the slot machines at the casino. She cherished the time spent with her large family, especially family vacations every year to Hammonasset Beach. Rejeanne was outgoing and all about having fun. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 65 years, Marcellin J. Petit; her beloved children: Lise Petit-Dondi and her husband David of Chicopee, Luc Petit and his wife Lise of Wilbraham, Norman Petit of West Springfield, Guy Petit and his husband Mike Reyor of Springfield, Sandra Kocziak of Westfield, Doris Hudson and her husband Michael of Dartmouth, Michel Petit and his wife Valerie of Springfield and Mark Petit of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Rejeanne will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 assembling at 9:30 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard and proceeding to St. Rose de Lima Church, Chicopee for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
