Robert Stanley Drzal, 69, passed away April 16, 2016 at his home. Born in Ludlow to the late Rudolph J. and Julia A. (Cislak) Drzal, Robert grew up in the Thorndike section of Palmer, MA. He resided formerly in Naugatuck, CT and was a resident of Hampstead, NH for the past 27 years.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Ann (Carroll) Drzal; his daughter, Dr. Caroline Drzal Arnedt, her husband Dr. Todd Arnedt, and three grandchildren, Delaney, Cole, and Cooper, all of Dexter, MI; his sister, Nancy Geoffroy and her husband, Ronald of Chicopee, MA, his brother-in-law, William J. Carroll and his wife, Nancy of Guilford, CT; his sister-in-law, Kathleen F. (Carroll) Champagne and her husband, Donald of Springfield, MA; his sister-in-law, Margaret M. (Carroll) Lattinville and her husband, Bruce of Yarmouth, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. He worked for 40 years in the field of polymer chemistry as a Senior Research and Development Chemist.  During his career, he was named in four US patents and in several others in Canada, Europe, and Australia while working for Uniroyal Chemical in Naugatuck, CT, Upjohn/Dow Chemical in North Haven, CT, and Huntsman International in Derry, NH. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography as a member of the Greater Lynn Camera Club, ice fishing, and caring for his home and his dogs.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 assembling at 9:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard and proceeding to Christ the King Church in Ludlow for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Fuller St., Bondsville. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
