Ruth L. (Veroneau) LaValley

Ruth L. (Veroneau) LaValley, 96, of East Longmeadow and formerly of Springfield, died October 7, 2016 at Wingate at Springfield.  Ruth retired as a bus driver after over 20 years of working with disabled children. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Christian Life Center (formerly First Pentecostal Church) in Springfield for over 44 years. She volunteered with their children’s groups, including the Royal Rangers and Missionettes. Her hobbies included crocheting, building doll houses and sewing. Most especially, Ruth was devoted to her large family that meant everything to her.

Ruth will be dearly missed by her many family members including Kim Croteau of Springfield, Alyssa Straight and her husband Casey of Springfield, Stephanie Croteau and her fiancé Christopher Serra of Springfield, Jeffrey Croteau Jr. of Springfield, Erica Mclean of Westfield, Toby Bolduc of Springfield, Catherine Mclean of Westfield, Harold LaValley of Springfield, Mark LaValley and his wife Caroline of West Springfield, Chelsea LaValley of West Springfield, Alicia Heath of West Springfield, Bridget LaValley of West Springfield, Roxann LaValley Tupuola and her husband Tasi of Hawaii, Dawn Carrington of Russell, Noel Kelly of Chicopee, Sarah Whitford of Springfield, Alex Kelly of Springfield, Rebecca Washburn of Agawam, and Kathy Larochelle of Chicopee, Thom Henry and his wife Tiffany of Russell, Chelsea Henry of Russell, Robert LaValley Jr of VT, Evan LaValley and Emily LaValley of VT, Coleen and her husband Shawn of VT, and Joseph LaValley of Springfield. She also leaves an additional 39 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 daughters-in-law Mary, Diane and Nancy and her God Child Ruthanne.

She was predeceased by her husband, Latane “Joe” LaValley; 3 sons, Ernest, Robert and Francis LaValley; a brother, Francis Veroneau; 2 sisters, Ida (LaValley) Burgess and Catherine Veroneau and 3 grandchildren, Rene LaValley, Michele (LaValley) Bailey and Edward LaValley.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 9AM at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services and proceeding to Christian Life Center for a 10AM service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 3-7PM.
