Stella (Bator) Malek, 98, passed away April 10, 2015 in Florida. She was born in Ludlow, MA to the late Stanley and Anna (Kmiec) Bator.

Stella worked for the International Rubber Company for 34 years until her retirement. Before moving to Florida, she was a communicant of Christ the King Church, a member of St. Ann’s Sodality, the Rosary Sodality, The Golden Agers Club of Ludlow, Polish American Citizens Club and was a volunteer at the Ludlow Senior Center. She was also a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Altamonte Springs, FL and a member of the Senior Center of Casselberry, FL.

Stella will be remembered as a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always there to help others, especially her parents and her beloved husband as they aged and was a wonderful friend and neighbor. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John Malek; her daughter Dorothy “Dottie” McCollum; brothers Andrew and Stanley and sisters Mary Zajdel and Sophie Macutkicwicz. She leaves her granddaughter Kimberly Benham of Florida; two great-grandchildren Gavin and Zane; son-in-law Robert McCollum and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 with Visitation from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw Ave., Ludlow. Burial will be at St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of her late daughter, Dottie, to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 100 Pearl St #1432, Hartford, CT 06103
