Thomas P. Bigos, 69, passed away January 22, 2018 at Baystate Wing Hospital, Palmer. Born in Ludlow, MA, Tom was the son of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Yamer) Bigos and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1966 graduate of Cathedral High School and received his Associates Degree from STCC. Tom served honorably in the U. S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. For over 25 years, he worked as an electrician for Friendly’s Ice Cream. He liked to hunt and fish and was a big sports fan, especially of the Patriots and Red Sox. Most especially, Tom cherished the time spent with his beloved grandchildren.
He leaves his loving wife of 46 years, Claire A. (Zielinski) Bigos; his daughters, Nancy Bigos-Dansereau and her husband Ben of Westfield and Angela Bigos of Wilbraham; his brothers, Joseph Bigos and his wife Dolly of Ludlow and John Bigos of Wilbraham; his grandchildren, Natalie Dansereau, Madison Morgado and Zachary Morgado; as well as many other family members and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
