Victor Joseph Belanger, 85, passed away September 25, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield to the late Antonio and Bernadette (Mongeau) Belanger, he was a lifelong Indian Orchard resident. Victor served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a faithful, longtime parishioner of St. Aloysius Church and most recently St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Victor’s greatest accomplishment was his successful work as a talented mason contractor. His company, Belanger Masonry, was involved in building many commercial and residential masonry buildings throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island and was also very proud of building his own home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 62 years, Helen (Sajdak) Belanger; a son, Antonio Belanger of Belchertown; 3 daughters, Barbara “Ariel” Belanger of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Patricia Belanger of Williamsburg, MA and Eileen Gendron and her husband Ron of Indian Orchard; 6 grandchildren: Gregory McCarthy, Brett McCarthy, Miakara Belanger, Brianna Rosenstein, Victoria Maguire, and Kurt Armbruster; 4 great-grandchildren, Mason, Bennett, Holden, and Caenan and also other family members and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 with a Calling Hour from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard and then proceeding to St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St., Springfield for a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard.
