Lansing M. Salvas, Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024 at Daybrook Village Senior Living in Holyoke. Born in Springfield on January 30, 1948 to the late Richard and Marlene (Kearns) Salvas, he grew up in the Winchester Square neighborhood of Springfield. Lansing served honorably in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during Vietnam and then served for 21 years in the Reserves. He worked as an assembly worker for Smith & Wesson for many years and retired from Savage Arms. He enjoyed fishing and was a member at Mill Valley Golf Links in Belchertown.
He leaves his wife of 23 years, Pamela (Pawlowski) Salvas; his children: Lansing Salvas, Jr, Louise Nieves and Tina Salvas, all of Chicopee; a brother, Richard Salvas, Jr. of Chicopee; his step-siblings: Paul Salvas of Agawam and Penny Irrizary, Pamela Salvas, Carol Copson and MaryLou Cruz, all of Springfield; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many other family members and friends.
