Alice M. (Zielinski) Castonguay, 69, of Chicopee, died Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield on March 28, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Mondry) Zielinski. Alice was raised in Indian Orchard and was a graduate of the former High School of Commerce, and had lived in Chicopee since 1973. She worked as a secretary for Matty Ryan in the Hampden County District Attorney’s office for more than 20 years. Alice later worked at the Mass. Package Store Association, Fire Tech & Safety and then at the Mill Pond School in Sixteen Acres. She loved spend time with her granddaughters.
Alice is survived by a son, Jeffrey Castonguay and his wife Kristel of Westminster, MD, a daughter, Melissa Benoit and her fiancé Brian Rucki of Ware, her former husband with whom she maintained a good relationship, Donald Castonguay of Southwick, a brother, Edward Zielinski and his wife Pat of San Antonio, TX, two sisters, Terry Panek of Ludlow and Rose Workum of Orlando, FL, and her three beloved granddaughters, Elena, Natalie and Rachel as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 2:00-4:00pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield.
