Barbara Anne Aliengena, 54, died on September 30, 2017 at her home. Born in Palmer, August 20, 1963, she was the daughter of Gerald, Sr. and Constance (Griswold) Aliengena.  She was a 1982 graduate of Palmer High School and worked for many years as a home health aide. Beating the odds, Barbara was a breast cancer survivor and had been in remission for 24 years. In her leisure, she loved making her family spaghetti sauce and sharing her famous lasagna with family & friends. She enjoyed watching her favorite football team, The New England Patriots. She also adored her pup Beau Beau and taking him for his daily walks.

She will be deeply missed by her 2 daughters, Christina Aliengena of Palmer and Elaine Aliengena of Holyoke, along with her 2 granddaughters Jaelyn Rovelli and Janelle Carey.  She also leaves her siblings, Harry  Aliengena of Palmer, Gerald Aliengena, Jr. of GA, Gary Aliengena of UT, Shirley Ross of Monson,  James Aliengena of Belchertown,  and John Aliengena of Ware, and many nieces and nephews.  She will also be missed by many friends including lifelong friends Verna Mieltowski of Palmer and Audrey Ryan of Palmer.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 5-8pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 with a Calling Hour from 10-11am at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at 12:00pm at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Palmer.
