Brett Williamson

Brett Edward Williamson, 28, passed away July 14, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center, after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield on July 14, 1989, he was the son of William and Kathleen (Zimmer) Williamson. Brett was a lifelong Ludlow resident and attended Ludlow High School where he played basketball and was captain of the golf team and made All Western Mass. He graduated from Westfield State University, obtaining a business degree in 2011. He was also captain of the golf team at WSU.

At 16, Brett began working at Ludlow County Club where he worked for 12 years and for the past 5 years he was the Assistant Golf Professional with his mentor, Michael Bechard. During his illness, he had the support of the Ludlow Country Club members which meant a lot to him and his family. An avid sports fan, he loved the Patriots, Red Sox and San Antonio Spurs.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Flora Zimmer “Gui”; his paternal grandparents, Helen and Edward Williamson; his uncle, Thomas Zimmer, Jr. and his special aunt, Alice Lucier.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Bill and Kathy Williamson; his sister, Leah Williamson; his uncles, Raymond Williamson and his wife Karen and Michael Williamson and his wife Joan; his cousins, Kara Kelly, Megan Williamson, Jenna Williamson, Jessica Curtis, and Joshua Williamson and many other family members and numerous good friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Ludlow County Club followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m. Please dress casual or in golf attire. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
