Eugeniusz Skoczylas, 75, passed away on March 16, 2018, in his Ludlow home. He was born on June 5, 1942, in Boleslaw, Poland to the late Wawrzynic and Julia (Mastalerz) Skoczylas. He and his late wife Krysytna immigrated to the United States in 1974 and settled in Ludlow in 1978. He was a faithful communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church since his arrival from Poland. Over the years, he supported his family with employment at Springfield Foundry, Smith and Wesson and eventually retired from US Tsubaki. He spent his retirement years caring for his home, yard, and garden. He enjoyed visiting friends and family and treating them with his delicious homemade kielbasa.
He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Leung, her husband Bryant, and grandchildren Christopher, Audrey, and Daniel of California; his son Anthony (Tony) Banas and grandson Sebastian of Connecticut; brother Boleslaw of Poland; many cousins, nephews, and their families. He is predeceased by his wife Krystyna, brother Zdzislaw and his parents.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, April 4, gathering at 10am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, Parker St., Springfield with burial following in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield.
