Florence Mary (Goodrich) Allen

Florence Mary (Goodrich) Allen, 92, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2019. Born in Springfield to the late Henry & Mary (Verrillo) Goodrich, she was raised in East Longmeadow. For many years, Florence was a “snowbird”, dividing her time between her homes in MA and FL, until permanently moving to Port St. Lucie, Florida 20 years ago. During WWII, she proudly supported the war effort by working at the Springfield Armory. She was the owner of the former Dairy Queen in Springfield. Florence loved to sew, read novels, do jigsaw puzzles & spend quality time with her bird, Dodo.  

 She leaves her children: Thomas Goodrich (Joanne) of Ware, Linda Laviolette (David) of Palmer, Michael Allen (Karen) of Springfield, & Mark Allen (Donna) of Fayetteville, NC; her grandchildren: Quentin, Lisa, Jason, Jodi, Kevin, Thomas & Daniel, several great-grandchildren & other family members & friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Sullivan, a brother, Earl Goodrich & a grandson, Jeremy. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
