Marie Deslauriers Obituary

 Marie C. "Doris" (Caron) Deslauriers, 85, who was born and raised in Chicopee to the late Edgar and Alice (Lefebvre) Caron, started her family in Springfield, and became a resident of Ludlow in 1970, entered into peaceful eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Mount St. Vincent Care Center in Holyoke.  Doris worked at the Springfield Armory and while raising her six children, returned to the work force as a Customer Service Representative for the Westvaco Envelope Company until she retired. 

Doris was a former member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Springfield, where she was active in the P.T.A. and helped coordinate school and church activities. While attending St. Mark's Episcopal Church in East Longmeadow, Doris was a member of the Altar Guild and helped prepare sandwiches for the needy.  Doris loved being with her family and friends, playing cards, travelling, Cape Cod, dancing, cultural arts, which included plays, musicals and museums.  One of her favorite hobbies was cake decorating.  She took pride in her family's apple orchard and will always be remembered for her greeting cards. She was also a lifetime member of the Templeton Fish & Game Club.  Doris lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of every day!

Doris was the wife of the late Armand J. Deslauriers, who died on February 16, 2018, sister of the late Lester Caron, mother-in-law of the late Carol Deslauriers and grandmother of the late Steven Patterson.  Doris is survived by her sister-in-law, Vivian Caron, her six children, Gerard Deslauriers and his wife, Linda of Southwick, Jeannine Duquette and her husband, Robert "Duke" of Chicopee, Robert Deslauriers of West Springfield, Therese Patterson and her husband, Matthew of Shafter, CA, Armand P. Deslauriers and his wife, Michelle of Ludlow and Marie Santos and her husband, Michael of Wilbraham. Doris is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren, Renee, Andre, Noelle, Monique, Rebecca, Brian, Rachel, Amanda, Nathaniel, Christopher, Jessica, Lauren, Katelyn and Briana, and her twelve great grandchildren Austin, Ava, Alex, Quinton, Devin, Ezekiel, Lucas, Gabriel, Danielle, Noah, Declan, Benjamin and soon to arrive, Baby Schulman. 

Funeral Services for Doris will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 8:45 AM from Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1 Porter Rd., East Longmeadow, MA 01028.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Chicopee.  Calling hours for Doris will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 27th from 5-8 PM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris' memory, to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, would be appreciated.  For additional information, please visit www.nowakfuneral.com
