Mary G. (Grimaldi) Desautels, 89, passed away July 29, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in West Springfield to the late Alfonso and Immaculata Grimaldi. Mary was a Ludlow resident for 65 years and was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Parish. She retired from H&R Block as a tax preparer after working over 35 years.

In her younger years, Mary enjoyed square dancing and was also excellent at rug hooking, crocheting, knitting, and sewing coats and hats for her young daughters. More recently, as a resident of Keystone Commons Assisted Living in Ludlow, she enjoyed coloring in adult coloring books, and especially spending time with her very close friends and caring staff at Keystone. Mary loved get-togethers with family and friends and will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

She leaves 3 daughters: Mary Mucha and her husband Stephen of Wilbraham, Theresa Lozyniak and her husband Andy of West Springfield, and Tina Kohut and her husband Joseph of South Windsor, CT; 7 beloved grandchildren: Melanie Freeman, Missy Raymond, Alex Lozyniak, Adam Lozyniak, Deanna Lozyniak, Jenna Kohut and Justin Kohut; 3 great-grandchildren: Emily Raymond, Brad Freeman and Bria Freeman and many other family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ernest Desautels on April 1, 1986, and 3 sisters: Theresa Circosta, Rose Zambelli and Carmella Ligsukis.,

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 with a Calling Hour from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Parish, 191 Hubbard St., Ludlow. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery, West Springfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
