Richard Paul Housman, 44 died surrounded by his family and friends on March 29, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to Denise (Artruc) Pepin and the late Paul Housman, he was a lifetime Springfield resident. Richard attended Springfield schools and was self-employed as a house painter. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed being outside landscaping, playing his Xbox, remote control cars, bike riding, and enjoyed fishing with his friends. He loved music and he also was a big kid at heart. He loved spending time with his dogs and was continuously prepared to offer a helping hand to those in need. Always the life of the party, he adored parties and gatherings with family and friends, and couldn’t wait for the next occasion; he will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, along with his infectious smile.
He leaves his dear mother, Denise (Atruc) Pepin and her husband Maurice Pepin of Springfield; The love of his life and best friend of 25 years Christine Libby of Springfield; his daughter Jessica Kelley of Springfield; his daughter Alyssa Gonzalez of Ware; his granddaughter Lily; his only brother Adam Housman his fiancé Amy Flechsig of Springfield. He also leaves his niece Brooklyn Housman of Tauton, MA and nephew Camden Housman of Springfield; also his uncle David Housman of Georgia and his beloved fur babies, Tinkerbell and Nemo. He also leaves to cherish his memory: his aunts, uncles, cousins , other family members and circle of friends, including Anthony Dailida and David DeGray.
Visitation for Richard will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 12:00-1:30PM at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30PM.
