Roland R. Menard

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Roland R. Menard on August 30, 2019 in South Yarmouth MA. He spent his last years there peaceful and content living with his youngest son Randy and family. Roland grew up in Springfield’s south-end with 5 sisters and 4 brothers, joined the Navy and saw action during the Korean War on the USS Ingersoll. Upon returning to Springfield, he worked in the Plumbing supply business for almost 50 years, married and spent 45 wonderful years with the love of his life, Phyllis Price Menard. Together they raised 7 children, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren with love and devotion. We remember Roland best for his love of Westerns, especially John Wayne and Audie Murphy. His extraordinary memory, love of horse racing, and playing hockey in the driveway with his Bruins took.

He will be cremated per his request with a memorial gathering to share memories on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 12:00 till 2:00 at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard. Burial will be later at the convenience of the family.
