Silvestre C. Luis

 Silvestre C. Luis, 71, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Monte de bois, Alcobaça, Portugal, son of the late Augusto and Diolinda (Felicidad) Luis, he came to the United States in 1974 and lived in Ludlow before moving to Indian Orchard.  Silvestre worked as a set-up man for Ludlow Textiles for many years before his retirement. An avid Portuguese soccer fan, he loved following his favorite team, Benfica.

He leaves a son, Antonio L. Luis and his wife Susan Petrucelli of Westfield and a daughter, Ana Cantanhede and her wife Kris Culton of Ludlow; a sister, Maria Augusta of Portugal; a grandson, Noah Luis; and his longtime companion, Gertrudes (Martins) Lopes of Indian Orchard. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29th assembling at 9am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services and proceeding to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, June 28th from 4-7pm.
