Theodora “Dottie” (Popko) Czepiel, 83, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 28, 2017. She was the loving wife of Walter Czepiel for 46 years. Born in Wola Obszanska, Poland on August 3, 1934 to the late Jan Popko and Margaret (Wurszt) Popko, she immigrated with her family to the United States in 1949. She attended Immaculate Conception School in Indian Orchard and Putnam High School in Springfield. She worked at Equitable Life Insurance Co. in Springfield, and then devoted her time to raising her daughters and caring for her family. She was a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Indian Orchard, where she was also a member of St. Anne’s Sodality. Dottie was a talented painter and seamstress. She adored flowers, especially daisies and roses.

Her warmth and humor will be dearly missed by many, including her husband, Walter Czepiel, her daughters Teresa Czepiel and Lisa Page; her son-in-law Kristofer Page; grandchildren Luke, Toby, and Lily Page; sister Hedy Tenczar and husband Andy Tenczar; and sister-in-law Mary Popko. She also leaves her nieces, godchildren, and many cousins here and in Poland. Dottie was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Julian Popko, and nephew Stephen Lustofin.
