Thomas “Barty” Walter Cieplik, 79, passed away February 20, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Wilbraham, MA to the late Walter and Bertha (Przybycien) Cieplik, he was a longtime resident of Indian Orchard. Barty served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a member of the Polish American Veterans Club of Wilbraham. He was employed as a currier for Spectra Labs. Barty was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church where he volunteered at the annual church picnic. A lifelong member of Ludlow Country Club, he loved golfing as often as he could, and also enjoyed playing the lottery and going to the casino.
He leaves his children, John Cieplik and his wife Lynn of Ludlow, Lynne Peluso and her husband Joseph of Ludlow, and Steven Cieplik and his partner Chip Murdock of Orlando, FL; 3 grandchildren, Maria Cieplik, Joseph Peluso and Thomas Peluso; he also leaves his sister and brother-in-law Roseann and Gary Hanson of Newtown, CT; 3 nieces, Tina Cronin and her husband Mark of Trumbull, CT, Amy Hanson of Boca Raton, FL and Erica Belden and her husband Keith of Monroe, CT and loving great-nieces and nephews, Mark, Emily, Keith and Samantha. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Maria (Silva) Cieplik.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 assembling at 10:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
