Alberta Deshais Obituary

Alberta E. "Sis" (Wright) (Lemon) Deshais, 80, died at home on July 2, 2020 surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Born in Springfield on September 13, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Albert Wright, Sr. and Eva May (Carlson) Wright. Alberta was a lifelong Springfield resident and worked for many years as a cook at The Copper Door and The Cornerstone, both in Springfield. She was an avid NASCAR and Red Sox fan and enjoyed gardening. Most especially, family was the center of Alberta's life. She showed extraordinary love and dedication to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her six children, Robin Veilleux and her partner Rich Garlic of Chicopee, Richard Lemon and his wife Christine of Southwick, Lori Meaney and her husband Timothy of Springfield, Pamela Kennedy and her husband Maurice of Clinton, CT, Wendy Corigliano and her husband James of Springfield and Scott Lemon and his wife Lisa of Springfield, as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alberta was predeceased by her husband Richard Lemon, her two brothers, and her companion of 15 years, Jerome Brassil. Alberta is also survived by Jerome's children, William Brassil, Kelly Bogaard, Geri Shults and Sara Krokov. Alberta's funeral services will be held privately by her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Springfield Senior Services, 66 Industry Ave., #9, Springfield MA 01104 or to Baystate VNA & Hospice, 50 Maple St., P. O. Box 9058, Springfield, MA 01102.
