Alexander Delgado Obituary

On Saturday, July 10, 2021, Alexander Joseph Delgado, son, brother and beloved friend, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 32. Alexander, better known to friends and family as “Alex” was born December 6, 1988 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Sergio Delgado and Rute Sousa.

Alex had a passion for many things, from cars to motorcycles and anything that involved hard work. He loved to be in the company of good friends and family, while not forgetting to give people a hard time. It was just his way of showing he cared. He loved his job at HQI, with every conversation usually ending with work and how he was in fact the “The Doorninja”.

Alex is survived by his father, Sergio Joseph Delgado of Portugal, his mother, Rute Sousa of Switzerland, his brother, Jonathan Timothy Delgado of Massachusetts, his half-sister, Beatriz de Sousa Costa of Switzerland, his grandmother, Maria Filomena Delgado of Portugal, as well as his aunt, Maria and uncle, Dean Desmarais, and two cousins, Ashley Smith & Brad Desmarais of Massachusetts.

Not only did he have an impact in multiple states, but also two continents. In the short period of time that he lived in Portugal, he had an immense impact and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Calling hours for Alex will be held on Wednesday, July 21, from 4-7pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield.

Alex’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA, 01104.
