Allan J. Fleming

Allan Joseph Fleming, 79, passed away November 3, 2024 at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer. He was born on October 1, 1945 in Appleton, Wisconsin, one of 11 children of the late Orville and Henrietta (LeNoble) Fleming. Allan grew up in Little Chute, Wisconsin and was a 1964 graduate of St. John High School. He most recently resided in Belchertown, MA.

After graduating, Allan enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. WASP. He was a distinguished member of the Gemini Recovery Experts (GREX) which participated in space shuttle recovery operations on the Sargasso Sea. He met his future wife in the naval shipyards in Boston and they were married in 1969. Allan worked in sales, working his way up to Vice President of Purchasing for J. Polep Distribution Services. He enjoyed playing KENO, following the news, and watching court themed TV shows.

He leaves his children, Jennifer Fleming of Belchertown and Joshua Fleming of Mechanicsville, Virginia; his siblings, Barb Romaine, Pat Welch, Tom Fleming, and Kevin Fleming, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his son Jason Fleming in 2015, his wife Stephanie (MacDonald) Fleming in 2019, and his siblings Gordie, Janice, Wayne, Jerry, and Jean.
