Allan D. Noyes, of Ludlow, passed away on March 18, 2022 at Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in Montpellier, VT to the late Harry and Norma (Rich) Noyes. He grew up in North Bennington, VT and was a graduate of Arlington High School and Castleton State. He later earned his Master’s from the former North Adams State College while working as a mathematics teacher at Hoosac Valley High School in Cheshire, MA. He was an avid fan of Cleveland sports (the Indians, Cavaliers and Browns) and played golf, baseball, basketball and softball and also served as a golf coach and umpire. While teaching at Hoosac, he was the director of Senior Class plays, and was a strong supporter of HVHS athletics. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife Ann, attended HVHS sporting events, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his rescue-kitten, Shirley.
Allan is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years: Ann Robillard and step-daughter, Sheryl Schiavo, a former wife, Barbara Noyes and their daughter, Melissa Mott, former wife Meridith Noyes and their daughter, Cindy Poggiogale, his brothers, Robbie, Jim, Bill, and Rickie Noyes; and his grandchildren: Emily, Caitlin, Connor, and Ella Mott, and Julianne and Tyler Poggiogalle. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Noyes, son-in-law, Al Poggiogalle, and a step-son, Mitchell Robillard.
Calling Hours for Allan will be on Saturday, April 2, from 11am-1pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield with a Prayer Service to follow in the funeral home at 1pm. Donations may be made in Allan's memory to www.dakinhumane.org.
