Anne-Lise (Maagero) Hatcher, 93, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center.
Born on November 16, 1931, in Lindesnes, Norway, she was the daughter of the late Thor Bjorn and Nora (Nilsen) Maagero.
Anne-Lise immigrated to the United States in 1950. She made her home on Gardens Drive in Springfield for over 50 years before moving to Chicopee, where she lived for the past six years. She worked as a bookkeeper until her retirement and was a longtime member of Foster Memorial Church in Springfield.
Deeply involved in her community, Anne-Lise was a life member of the Daughters of the Nile, a member of the Sons of Norway, and a dedicated volunteer for many years at Shriners Hospital in Springfield.
Anne-Lise enjoyed traveling and found great pleasure in visiting the beach, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing outdoors with her daily crossword puzzle.
She will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit, and generosity.
Anne-Lise was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Hatcher, and her brothers, Norman and Sverre “Steve” Maagero. Later in life, she cherished a special relationship with the late Ronald Lohnes.
She is survived by her step- children: Kris Hatcher (Julia) of Yarmouth, and Donna Hamel (Ernest) of Wilbraham; and by her nieces and nephews: Ray Maagero (Debbie) of Suffield, CT; Heidi Mayfield (Don Acus) of Chicopee; Ronald Maagero (Alda Fernandes) of Ludlow; and Karin Cocchi Ayoub (Don) of Windsor Locks, CT.
Anne-Lise will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18, at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Calling Hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Barbara Schenk. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
