Anthony V. DeMusis, Jr., 83, of Springfield, died October 3, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield on August 12, 1939, he was the son of the late Anthony V. DeMusis, Sr. and Marlene (Messick). He served as an Army Reservist. He worked as a firefighter for 33 years for the City of Springfield, retiring as a lieutenant. While working full time and raising his family with his wife, Anne, Anthony went back to school and graduated from UMass, Amherst with his Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science Technology. He was also a communicant of Holy Cross Church in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne M. (Proniewicz) DeMusis, two sons, Anthony DeMusis, III of Dedham, and Brian DeMusis and his wife Donalyn of Mililani, HI, a daughter, Cara Paschetto and her husband Michael of Monson, a brother, David DeMusis and his wife Shirley of Springfield, a sister, Barbara Konstantopolous and her husband James of Whately, as well as his grandchildren, Chanel Avilla and her husband, Chris, Nicholas DeMusis and his partner, Rizza and five great-grandchildren, Jace, Jaeden, Jaxen, Isabella and Noah.
Funeral Services will be held privately by his family, per Anthony’s request. The family would like to thank Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services of Springfield. Anthony will be laid to rest at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
