Christa C. Bingnet

Christa C. Bingnet, 83, of Greenfield, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Furfeld, Germany on June 23, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Friedrich and Johanna (Schmitt) Bingnet.

Christa came to this country in 1958, and lived in Ludlow from 1958-1979 until she moved to Greenfield. She worked in retail management from 1964-1982, and then served as the office manager for the family business which she ran with her husband from 1983-2002.

Christa loved the outdoors, nature, wolves, being in her backyard, gardening, bird watching. She especially loved sunshine and her vacations at Misquamicut State Beach.

The wife of the late James Capen who died in October of 2011 and mother of the late Charlotte Dente(Costa) who died in 2015, Christa is survived by two daughters, Catherine Costa and partner George Stavroulakis, andCorinne Costa, one sister, Annelie Anderson and partner Jeff Durden, five grandchildren, Danielle Marie and partner Brickett Allis, Isabelle Rodriguez and husband Gabriel Martinez, Nicholas Molé and partner Chelsea Sharrow, Christa Molé, and Tannin Costa, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Camryn Molé and Lily Allis.

Funeral Services will be held privately by her family. In recognition of Christa’s love of the outdoors, in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Mass. Audubon Society at www.massaudubon.org.
