David J. Lamontagne, 54, of Springfield, died at home on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020. Born in Holyoke on Apr. 27, 1965, he was the son of the late Albert and Joyce (Mason) Lamontagne. David graduated from the former Technical High School in Springfield where he was a member of the ROTC. He worked as a chef, truck driver, and machinist. He enjoyed cooking, riding motorcycles, sports, especially baseball and soccer, and dogs. He was an avid BOSTON RED SOX fan. He also enjoyed his many lunches with his niece, Cindy.
The brother of the late John E. Lamontagne, he is survived by his sister, Karen Mellen and her husband John of Agawam, his niece, Cindy Sherman and her husband Jordan of Gaylordsville, CT, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. David’s family would like to thank Mike Belanger and his daughter Brandy (and their dog, Annie) for treating David like one of the family.
Funeral Services for David will be on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 with Calling Hours from 8:00-9:45 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main St., Agawam at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately by his family at a later date at the family plot at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Springfield.
