Dean Miner Obituary

Dean Allan Miner, 53, passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was the son of the late Richard F. and Annette Y. (Morin) Miner. Born and raised in Holyoke, MA, he attended Holyoke High School and continued his education at The College of the Holy Cross, where he received his Bachelor’s degree. He later became a longtime resident of Chicopee, MA. He worked as a mail handler for the US Postal Service for 20 years. Dean was also a member at Christ the King Church in Ludlow, MA.

Dean was an avid sports fan, most especially baseball, and passionately kept up with all the New England teams. One of his favorite hobbies was collecting baseball cards, acquiring many over the years, as well as participating in fantasy baseball leagues. He loved his yearly trips to Old Orchard Beach and Cape Cod with his family, where he would visit lighthouses and relax on the beach.

Left to grieve him are his beloved wife of 26 years, Theresa (Halama) Miner, his two daughters, Julie and Natalie Miner of Chicopee, his brothers, David Miner and his wife Sharon of Holyoke, Donald Miner of West Springfield, Dennis Miner of West Springfield, Darran Miner and his wife Andrea of Fairfield, CT, his sister, Debbie Mascaro and her husband Ralph of Jacksonville, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for Dean will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 1-4pm, at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield, MA, 01151. His funeral service will assemble at 9am on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, followed by a mass at Christ the King Church at 10am, and a burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
